Education and Outreach
Working with our partners at Indiana University, the Center and its faculty give leadership and provide opportunities for students, community members, and IU faculty and staff to gain practical and theoretical knowledge of bioethics.
Interdisciplinary in its composition, the Faculty Investigators at the Center for Bioethics hold a number of leadership positions and academic appointments in graduate and professional education at IU and IUPUI. Below are some of the many educational programs the Center faculty are involved in.
- Senior Elective in Medical Ethics and Professionalism
The IUCB's faculty investigators are dedicated to making ethics a part of Indiana's discourse on science, medicine, and technology. The IUCB accomplishes this goal by giving lectures, hosting experts in bioethics, and participating in other events, forums, and activities open to the IU and Indianapolis communities.
Lectures and Visiting Experts
IUCB faculty lecture on various topics throughout the year as well as host domestic and international experts in bioethics. For when these talks are to be held, keep up to date with our "Upcoming Events" section and the IU School of Medicine events calendar.
- Spirit & Place Festival (November 2013)
- Molecular Medicine in Action
The Center has created innovative training opportunities for Indiana University faculty and staff to learn ethics and ethics pedagogy.
Teaching Skills in International Research Ethics (TaSkR) is the annual workshop hosted by the Indiana University – Moi University Academic Research Ethics partnership (IU-Moi AREP). TaSkR is an opportunity for faculty and students who work in an international setting to learn pedagogical methods and to acquire skills for teaching international research ethics.
